Fotografiska. Stockholm

Hoy voy a hablar de un museo increíble, el cuál tuve el placer de visitar en persona, se trata del museo Fotografiska de Estocolmo, un museo dedicado a la fotografía contemporánea.

Viajé a Estocolmo hace casi dos años, a finales de marzo de 2011, una ciudad preciosa donde se respira creatividad y diseño por todas partes. En Inglaterra hacía sol y pensé que en época primaveral no me iba a encontrar un congelador en mi destino, el cuál por cierto fue un viaje sorpresa como regalo de cumpleaños, y nada más lejos de la realidad  pues me encontré con nieve y lagos congelados ¡Nunca he pasado tanto frío en mi vida!
Uno de los mejores recuerdos que conservo del viaje es este museo. Lo inauguraron en mayo de 2010, cuenta tan solo con 3 añitos de vida pero recoge las mejores colecciones de fotografía contemporánea.
El museo ha recogido exposiciones de artistas como Steve Schapiro (Famoso fotógrafo neoyorkino quien fuera el responsable de fotografía de películas como El Padrino o Cowboy de medianoche) Anton Corbijn ( Sí, sí, el famoso fotógrafo y director de videos musicales que dirigió la película de cine independiente llamada Control, obra biográfica de la corta vida de Ian Curtis, cantante de Joy División) Christopher Makos (Quien fotografiara a Andy Warhol vestido de mujer en la famosa colección de fotografías llamadas Lady Warhol)  Annie Leibovitz ( La que fue responsable de las famosas fotos de John Lennon y Yoko Ono) o Albert Watson del hablaré en el siguiente post (Fue precisamente su obra la que estaba expuesta cuando visité el museo)

Today I am going to talk about an incredible museum, wich I had the pleassure of visiting in person. This museum is the Fotografiska Stockholm museum, a museum dedicated to contemporary photography.

I traveled to Stockholm almost two years ago, in the end of March 2011, Stockholm is a beautiful city where you can breathe creativity and design everywhere. In England it was sunny and I thought that in spring time I wouldn´t  find a freezer in my destiny, which by the way was a surprise trip as a birthday present, and nothing was further away from the reality as I found snow and frozen lakes I have never been so cold in my life!
One of the best memories I had of the of the city is this museum. It was inaugurated in May 2010, it has only 3 years old  but picks the best collections of contemporary photography.
The museum has presented  exhibitions of artists like Steve Schapiro (Famous new yorker  photographer  who was responsible for shooting of films like The Godfather or Midnight Cowboy) Anton Corbijn (Yes, yes, the famous photographer and music video director who directed the independent film Control, the biographical work of the short life of Ian Curtis, Joy Division Singer´s) Christopher Makos (Who photographed Andy Warhol dressed as a woman in the famous collection of photographs called Lady Warhol) Annie Leibovitz (Who was the responsable of the famous photos of John Lennon and Yoko Ono) and Albert Watson, I will talk about him in the next post (It was precisely his work the one that was exposed when I visited the museum)

El Fotografiska de Estocolmo está ubicado en el puerto de Estocolmo y cuenta con 5.500 metros cuadrados dedicados a las exposiciones. Debido a esta exclusiva ubicación, en la parte alta del edificio te encontrarás con un restaurante con unas vistas impresionantes ¡También hay una academia donde ofrecen cursos de fotografía! ¡Que lujo! ¿No?

The Fotografiska museum is located in Stockholm's port and has 5,500 square meters dedicated to exhibitions. Because of this unique location on the top of the building you will find a restaurant with stunning views.The museum offers as well an academy of photography courses! What a luxury! Isn´t it?

Para los amantes de la fotografía la tienda del museo será otro lugar para perderse.
